Privacy Policy for InstaKids: Fun & Safe Reels
Effective Date: 12 May 2026
InstaKids: Fun & Safe Reels (“InstaKids”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is designed to provide a family-friendly short video experience with creator uploads, moderation, reporting tools, blocking tools, and safety controls. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and how parents, guardians, and users can contact us about privacy or deletion requests.
By using InstaKids, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, please contact us using the contact details below.
1. About InstaKids
InstaKids allows users to watch short videos, sign in using supported login services, create or sync a creator profile, upload videos for review, view approved kid-safe content, follow creators, like or save videos, and report or block unsafe content.
Uploaded videos do not appear publicly immediately. Creator uploads are submitted for review and may be approved, rejected, removed, restricted, or blocked if they do not meet our safety rules.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Login information: Firebase user ID, Google Sign-In information where used, Apple Sign-In information where used, display name, email address, and profile photo if provided by the login provider.
- Creator profile information: display name, username, bio, avatar, creator role, and profile settings.
- Uploaded content: videos, captions, thumbnails, upload status, moderation status, and rejection reasons when applicable.
- Engagement data: views, likes, dislikes, saved videos, follows, following status, and basic feed interactions.
- Safety and moderation data: reports, report reasons, suggestions, blocked creators, hidden reels, safety actions, and content review decisions.
- Technical data: app version, device type, crash or performance information, server logs, request metadata, and general diagnostics used to maintain app security and reliability.
- Advertising-related data: limited advertising identifiers or ad delivery information where allowed by law and platform policies.
3. Sign-In Services
InstaKids may allow sign-in using Google Sign-In and, on iOS, Sign in with Apple. These services help authenticate users and create or sync a creator profile inside the app.
When you use Google Sign-In, we may receive your Google account ID, email address, display name, and profile photo, depending on your Google account settings and permissions.
When you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive your Apple user identifier, email address, and name if Apple provides it. Apple may allow users to hide their email address and use a private relay email. We use this information only to provide account, profile, and app features.
4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
InstaKids does not intentionally request or collect precise location, contacts, SMS messages, health data, financial data, government ID numbers, or passwords. Users should not include private information such as home address, school address, phone number, passwords, OTPs, or other sensitive details in captions, profile bios, videos, or reports.
5. Children’s Privacy and Family Safety
InstaKids is designed for children and families. We take child safety seriously and use safety reminders, moderation, reporting, blocking, parental guidance tools, and review controls to reduce unsafe or inappropriate content.
We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information. We do not knowingly allow public posting of unsafe content. If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected or displayed in a way that does not meet our safety standards or legal requirements, we will take reasonable steps to delete, restrict, or correct that information.
Parents or guardians may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of a child’s information or uploaded content.
6. Safety Reminders and Parental Controls
Before certain actions, such as uploading freeform videos or sharing content, InstaKids may show safety reminders and parental gate prompts. These reminders are designed to remind users not to share personal information, not to upload unsafe content, and to understand that uploads are reviewed before public posting.
These safety controls are part of our child-safety approach and are intended to support safer use of the app by children and families.
7. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and account features.
- Create, sync, and display creator profiles.
- Receive uploaded videos and captions for review.
- Moderate videos before they appear in the public feed.
- Show approved videos in the reels feed.
- Support likes, dislikes, saves, follows, and view counts.
- Allow users to report unsafe or inappropriate content.
- Allow users to block creators or hide unwanted content.
- Prevent spam, abuse, unsafe content, and policy violations.
- Improve app performance, reliability, security, and user experience.
- Serve ads where permitted and configured according to applicable child and family requirements.
8. Uploaded Videos and User-Generated Content
InstaKids includes user-generated content. When a user uploads a video, we may store the original video temporarily or permanently, create an optimized version for playback, generate a thumbnail, and store moderation status information.
Public videos may display a creator name, username, avatar, caption, view count, like count, and other basic content information. Users should only upload content they have the right to share and that is safe and appropriate for children and families.
9. Content Safety and Moderation
Videos containing violence, weapons, blood, dangerous actions, bullying, abuse, sexual content, nudity, harmful behavior, hate, scary content, illegal activity, private information, or other inappropriate material are not allowed.
We may use manual review, automated checks, user reports, blocked word checks, and moderation tools to review content. We may reject, remove, hide, restrict, or block content or creator accounts that violate safety rules.
10. Reporting, Blocking, and Safety Controls
Users can report reels that may be unsafe or inappropriate. Reports may include the post ID, reporter ID or device identifier, report reason, optional details, and related moderation information.
Users can also block creators or hide specific reels locally in the app. These safety controls help personalize the feed and reduce exposure to unwanted content.
Reports and blocking actions may be reviewed by the InstaKids team and may result in content removal, account restrictions, or other safety actions.
11. Advertising
InstaKids may use Google AdMob or similar ad services to display advertisements. Ads should be configured to be appropriate for children and families where required. Personalized advertising may be disabled where required, and child-directed treatment or family-safe ad settings may be applied depending on the user, region, platform, and applicable policies.
Ad providers may receive limited device, app, and ad delivery information to serve, limit, measure, and protect ads. We do not sell children’s personal information to advertisers.
Note: If InstaKids is submitted in a store category or program that prohibits third-party advertising or analytics for children, those services must be disabled, limited, or removed as required by that platform.
